Due to the conscious and organized development strategies since 2005 the Miskolc Industrial Park (MIP) has become one of the significant industrial parks in the region. The brand-new development area with full infrastructure, the so-called Mechatronics Industrial Park, is part of the MIP.
In 2005 as the first milestone of the building operations a 68.5 ha area got the title “Miskolc Industrial Park”. The whole process was prepared and implemented by the Miskolc Real Estate Company (MIK Plc.)
Due to the increasing investors’ needs for the municipality owned real estate a new development area has to be shaped in 2007. This plot was integrated into the Industrial Park by creating the necessary consensus and regulation background. So the area of the Miskolc Industrial Park expanded to 141.5 ha.
In August 2007 the Hungarian Government declared the Mechatronics Industrial Park development project - of 1.4 billion HUF total cost - to be a flag-ship project. The development was implemented in the course of „New Hungary Development Plan" with 50% (700 million HUF) subsidisation from the European Union. Today a 39.5 ha, brand-new Greenfield area with full infrastructure is available for investors with uniquely favourable conditions. The project was accomplished by the Miskolc Holding Asset Management Company of the Municipality and its affiliated company, the Miskolc Real Estate Company in partnership.
In the first half-year of 2009 the area of the MIP was extended to 147.8 ha by ÁTI Depot, so the plot became multimodal. It means that it can be achieved on two forms of transport: on public road and on railway. In the second half-year of 2009 the adjacent Robert Bosch Power Tool Ltd. and the Robert Bosch Energy and Body Systems Ltd. decided to join the industrial park. After conducting the necessary proceedings the area of the MIP was extended to 173.9 ha.
